Shop Update 3/26/24

Continuing with the production of exquisite work, Simon Silver Designs is focused on high level projects of intimate and careful craft. The ‘Blok’ Series has been the latest focal point of the workshop. The series dives into the simplicity and ideology of remembering where our furniture comes from by highlighting more than just the live edge table top, but also the depths of the logs wood comes from. With a lesser focus on use of epoxy resin, and more so on natural wood joinery, and use of glass, copper, brass, and steel, the workshop has begun the journey of elevating to new heights of design.

Heirloom Quality Woodwork

Simon Silver Designs is a Fine Furniture and Custom Woodworking Studio based in Santa Cruz California. Our vision is to breathe new life into fallen trees, and use the beautiful medium that is wood to create masterful pieces of functional art. Our life goal is to respect and practice the art of salvaging trees and transforming them into fine furniture and woodwork in the most organic way possible. Each slab of wood that becomes a table or furniture piece can be traced back to an exact location, and reason for being felled, be it by natural causes, due to tree sickness, or danger to a nearby home. The capabilities of our shop are expansive, from custom sawn lumber orders, large scale conference tables, to front entry doors.

At the footer of the website you’ll notice the logos of Urban Wood Network, 1% for the Planet, and One Tree Planted. I’m committed to contributing to a sustainable future for our planet, by having one new tree planted for every sale, as well as 1% of revenue back to a good cause. Being a member of the Urban Wood Network allows connection between trees and their journey to becoming finished products, and connected all the people along the way.
